Instructional Strategies
Blended Classrooms

As CTE teachers working with special populations we have to recognize that each student is unique and that it is our responsibility to make certain that there is a chance for success for every student that is in our classrooms. Individuals from special populations represent a diverse group of learners that possess a variety of different learning styles. They learn at different rates and therefore every CTE instructor must insure that he or she uses different instructional strategies to reach every one of these learners.

Every CTE teacher works in a “blended classroom”. A blended class contains a mixture of learning styles, academic achievements and socialization skills. Therefore when CTE teachers plan and deliver instruction they need to keep in mind, their students’ characteristics, abilities, learning styles and needs especially of students from special populations.
