Rick L. Peterson, Ph.D., L.M.F.T., C.F.L.E.
Associate Professor and Extension Parenting Specialist
Dr. Rick Peterson is an Associate Professor and Parenting Specialist with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service at Texas A&M University. He has statewide leadership responsibilities for program development and outcome evaluation of parenting and family life education programs. He conducts workshops and applied research related to parent education and family functioning; he has also written numerous Extension publications, curricula, and peer-reviewed journal articles. Rick has program development experience in the areas family life, parenting, child care, and mental health. He is a faculty member of the University Center on Disability at Texas A&M and project director for the Special Populations and Career Education Resource Library. Rick is utilizing and integrating technology into program delivery of Extension programs and materials through web access, as well as self-paced learning modules for parents, caregivers, and family professionals.
Rick is president of the National Association for Rural Mental Health and holds memberships in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and National Council of Family Relations. Rick is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Family Life Educator, and trained mediator. He holds degrees from Kansas State University, including a B. A. in Agriculture, a M. S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Ph.D. in Family Life Education.
Lakshmi Mahadevan , Ph.D.
Assitant Professor and Extension Specialist - Special Populations
Dr. Lakshmi Mahadevan has been a visiting professor with Texas A&M University. She also acts as Program Coordinator for the CTSP Center. She has her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Career Development Education from Texas A&M University. Her areas of expertise include career assessment, training teachers on post-scondary options for individuals with special needs, special education and multicultural career counseling.
Patrick Phillips, B. A.
Multimedia Production Manager
Patrick Phillips has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Evergreen State College, Olympia, Wa. His areas of emphasis were in Political Economy, Media Studies and Fine Arts. He has produced several documentaries featuring topics such as living wages and war. He is also the co-founder of New Spark Media and Arts Collective.
Tanya is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Texas A&M University.
