The CTSP website has a new training module titled, “Encouraging Student Resilience: Practical Strategies for CTE Teachers.” Featured in this module are approaches that teachers can use to support students who lack resiliency and may have difficulty engaging in the classroom. The training module features instructional videos that highlight the do’s and don’ts of teacher-student interactions. There is also an extensive toolbox that includes websites that connect you to best practices and ideas in promoting student resiliency as well as a checklist that focuses on teacher behaviors that encourage you to be cognizant and purposeful in your interactions with students. An on-line course will be coming soon that will be available for 2 CPE credits. The module can be found at: http://ctsp.tamu.edu/instructional-videos/encouraging.
In addition, there is a new webcast titled, “Teaching Technical Concepts to Special Populations in CTE – Financial Education.” This series of webcasts lists best practices for CTE teachers teaching technical concepts to students from special populations and can be found at http://ctsp.tamu.edu/webcasts-2/teachingtechnical/.
